Minolta made this lens until 1999. Today you can buy used one for very good price. Lens body is plastic and has rubbered zooming ring. Front element rotate when focusing. Standard accessories were front cap, rear cap and hood. It is full frame lens, but can be used on all new Sony DSLR's and DSLT's with APS-C sized sensors.

Depth of field and precision of focus
I tried depth of field for focal lengths of 35, 50 a 80mm, wide open and for f/8. Lens focus precisely for all focal lengths. I attached one photo for maximum focal length. Image quality is little bit worst than when using Sony SAL1855, but it is much better than when using older Sony SAL1870.
Distortion and abberation
Distortion was tested for focal lengths of 35, 50 a 80mm. Lens has little barrel distortion at 35mm. Distortion disappears at 50mm and more. Abberation is red or blue and is mostly visible wide open. It is much better when stopped down, but never disappers.
Conclusion
Lens with this focal range is mostly useful for shooting in exterior or for portraits. It is very small and light. My rating for this lens is 31/40
